The story mainly contrasts how the outrageously courageous little girl, Emily, struggles over all the discouragements and disappointments to her destination which is being a writer. At the end of the book, she reads and recalls the old letters and diaries she wrote when she was at the New Moon and thinks how silly they were. This story highlights an important message that if we lead ourselves to our dreams crossing over the hurdles and problems we may face along the way, with great ambition and courage, the victory might be yours. It encourages the writer to never give up and keep on dreaming.
