About Zane Grey

Paul Zane Grey was an American author who was born in 1872. His work is of the western genre and is known as the father of this genre. He is renowned for adventure stories and Novels.  He has a flowery descriptive writing style.  He had the perfect sense of the use of the correct word at the correct time. He has given huge contribution in literature and the arts, being the author of 86 books. He was a prolific writer and his works have been used for films and television series. 112 movies, two television episodes and a television series have adapted Grey’s work. His bestselling novel was Riders of the Purple Sage which was published in 1912. He passed out in the year 1939 in Altadena, California. Even now, in this generation his works are loved by many. He was a character in the real world who is to be remembered.

Summary of Dessert Gold

This is a love story about a man named Richard Gale. He is the main character of the story and his desire to prove his rich father that his existence in the world worth something. To prove his existence, he steps in to help his friend to reuse his friend's girlfriend from Rojas who is an evil rogue. While helping his friend, he gets caught in the US / Mexican border. There he meets Belding’s (the Immigration Inspector) rangers who resides near Forlorn River. When Gale works for Belding, there he meets the love of this life. From here the love story beings and the story get more interesting. The characters in the story are good people who are humble and good. The story is about their survival in a very harsh condition and the environment. This is an unpretentious story where survival and escape are the main themes with a touch of love and romance. It is about the harsh and long nights in the desert. Like in most of the western based novel heroes are the one to perform the heroics, but in this novel it is not so. In this book, the female characters were also shown impressively strong.  So basically this whole story is about the heroic characters trying to flee from the villain (Rojo) with the use of different elements like romance, action, drama etc. to spice of the story.

This novel is good to go for everyone. The content is catchy and it gets more and more interesting when you read along. You will not regret getting this novel. Those who are not familiar with western lifestyle can also enjoy the book.
