What is ironman and how to train for an iron man?

Ironman is the type of triathlon. It is the longest distance to be travelled in triathlon which includes 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km bike riding and 42.2 km run. This is the hard-core part of sports as it needs a great ability and practice do perform our body in such levels. This was first started professionally during 1977 Oahu perimeter rally. In many country it is taken as the military training due to its overall development of body.

Before training the iron man, one must be able to swim properly for longer distance, one must be a good bike rider and should be physically strong enough to run 42.2 km. This shows that one with great physic can only enrol themselves directly into ironman training either they can join the sprint triathlon and upgrade themselves to iron man training. One should keep in mind that this event is not for few hours but for the whole day they need to perform with full energy. Training should be started as early as possible. The experts say that people who want to enrol for iron man must train for 18-30 hours a week. This should be taken as a part time job as people need to 3.8 km swim, 180.2 km bike riding and 42.2 km run. Ironman training must run for years to prepare themselves for this event.  First we need to find at what section we are weak and start working in it as it has 3 different section. Once we are done with over all development equally then we start focusing on cycling as it covers the largest distance. More over we should take running also under consideration but we can never ignore swimming as it starts the race in the events. Apart from each event practice one must prepare himself for mental and physical stability around the event.

 
This half iron man training covers many weeks of challenges but this can be done by the one who have good physique and one looking for Olympic standard triathlon training. Half iron man training is defined as 1.930km swim, 90km biking and 21km running which is almost half of the ironman. One must know swimming cycling and have good health in order to carry out this program. If one has the experience on swimming and biking for about 1-2 years then this program can help them to completely execute the program. We have to make a certain fixed working time so that we can make work out completely possible. The diet should be maintained with in the training session so that one will know go under problems. We have to be mentally prepared as well so that we can achieve the goal we have aimed. It needs a regular work time and nearly 5-10 hours working time per week.
